The Tiesendammen in Trondheim

With a couple hours left in our day following our visit to the Folk Museum, we wandered around the neighborhood in search of a place Gro suggested with excellent views of the surrounding area.  We finally managed to get ourselves on the right street and started heading up the hill toward the Tiesendammen, a dam and reservoir high up on one of the hills overlooking Trondheim and Trondheimsfjord.

Even before we got to the top, we had some nice views…of ominous clouds!

The kids did quite well, with one in the sled and one walking most of the time.

The neighborhood was full of pretty wooden houses, and some surprises!

Almost there!

Through the snow…

There’s the dam!

And the views were worth the climb.  Photos can’t do it justice, but it was breathtaking.  And with those dramatic clouds overhead, even more stunning.

Back down the hill again, and through the neighborhood to Gro and C-G’s house for a delicious dinner of Jordskokk Soup (Jerusalem Artichoke).

And when we all met up at home again, much goofiness ensued.
