Primrose Hill and Hampstead Heath (don’t they sound like fairytale places?)

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to head up to London by myself to spend the afternoon with my good friend, Ivana.  Brad spent some quality time with the kids and I hopped on a train to St. Pancras station.  It was a lovely sunny spring day and the tiny new spring lambs were frolicking in the fields along the way.

We decided to head from St. Pancras to Primrose Hill for a picnic, so we got ourselves some delicious food from M&S, took a bus, and then walked the rest of the way through a lovely neighborhood.

We hiked up Primrose Hill to have a picnic and enjoy the view.

After lunch, we headed down the hill and started making our way to Hampstead Heath, through a very posh neighborhood.  I was hoping for a celebrity sighting, but they were all feeling shy, I guess.

Lovely Ivana.

We stopped for a cup of tea and wandered through a few shops.

And then we arrived at Hampstead Heath.

This is a huge green place, quite wild, with lots of trees.  And swans.  Ivana informed me that all of the swans in the UK belong to the queen.

We walked and walked and walked.  It was gorgeous and peaceful.  Ivana took me to a beautiful garden at one end of this enormous place.  It was the kind of place that time seems to have forgotten.

We reluctantly left the garden and headed for the tube.

Ivana accompanied me to Kings Cross, where we went our separate ways.  But we’ll see her again soon!  She’s coming to Whitstable to play a concert at the end of the month!

Hi! What is you May/June schedule like? I’m coming to England on the 15th–have to go to Bath, London, Warwick and then back to London for 3 weeks starting the 27th? It would be great to catch up with you.
